I feel convinced that the struggle in India can be carried on for at least two years without any help from outside The people have been trained during the past two decades to conduct the campaign without any big leader, and the fact that most of the leaders are now in prison will serve as a perpetual inspiration to them. Moreover, the Indian people today are much stronger and more well-organised than ever before and on the other hand, the British Empire is now disintegrating as a result of defeats in different theatres of war. Consequently, the Indian people will be able to hold out till the final collapse of the British Empire takes place. Time and the forces of history are working for us and we will win. Only we must make up our mind to sacrifice a hundred thousand lives in this great fight, and that is not a big price to pay for the emancipation of three hundred and eighty eight million human beings According to the British Government, the total losses suffered by the Indian people in this war already amount to nearly one hundred thousand. Thus we have sacrificed, against our will, these one hundred thousand men for the preservation of the British Empire. Let us now voluntarily sacrifice a hundred thousand lives so that this Empire is overthrown and India is free once again. This sacrifice will be only one seventh of what India underwent during the last World War.

One of the most encouraging features in this year’s campaign is the participation of the States people in our national struggle I offer them my warmest congratulations on their patriotic endeavour, and I assure them that when India is free, they will benefit from the change as much as the people of British India will.

I must also offer my warmest congratulations to the Prime Minister of Sind, Allah Bux, for not only giving up his title, which was a badge of slavery, but also for declaring to the whole world that the majority of Indian Muslims today supports India’s struggle for freedom. I can assure him that Indians all over the world are beholden to him for the timely service he has rendered to India and to the Indian Muslims by giving the lie direct to the recent impudent speech of the British Prime Minister on India. I hope that all those who are interested in India will no longer be duped by British propaganda to the effect that the Indian Muslims do not sympathise with or support the fight for freedom. In order to enlighten the outside world, it would be advisable for other Muslim organisations also to similarly declare their attitude towards the present struggle. The Khudai Khidmatgars of the Frontier, the Majlis-i-Ihrar of the Punjab, the Praja Party of Bengal, the Nationalist Muslim Party of India, the Anjuman-i-Watan of Baluchistan, the All-India Women’s Party, the All-India Shia Conference, the All-India Jamiat-i-Ulema whose brave leader Mufti Kifait Ullah is in prison, all these and other organisations that stand for India’s independence should come forward and give a fitting reply to the false assertions of arrogant British politicians

Friends, I would once again ask the Indian members of the Viceroy’s Executive Council lo reconsider their present position. They should have noticed by now that British politicians have been throwing all the responsibility on their shoulders for the terrible happenings in India. If they do not repudiate that responsibility at once, the blood of their innocent countrymen will be on their head, and they will have to answer for it when the time comes. The best and most honourable course for them is to follow the example of Sir CP Ramaswamy Iyer and lay down their office. I ardently hope that the lead in this matter will be given by my friend. Mr MS Aney.
